I’m not just a consultant — I’m a mother of two children with disabilities, and I built the system I desperately needed when I didn’t know what to do, who to call, or how to make it all work.

A woman and a girl sitting on a wooden bench outdoors, both wearing yellow dresses. The woman has brown hair and a bright yellow off-shoulder dress, smiling as she looks at the girl. The girl has light brown hair with a large yellow bow, wearing a yellow lace dress, and is looking at her hand with a content expression. Behind them are large green tropical leaves and a glass window.

When I had my son, I was a young mother. I didn’t understand special education, evaluations, or even that support services existed. I found information here and there, but it wasn’t until he was in third grade — and I had gone back to school to study Exceptional Student Education — that I was able to get him the diagnosis and services he needed. When my daughter was born, I knew what to look for. She was diagnosed with Autism by age 2, and now receives early intervention that’s helping her thrive — not because the system changed, but because I had the knowledge to navigate it.

I’ve been a single parent throughout this journey, and I know the exhaustion of trying to financially cover everything — from therapies to transportation to applications — while raising children alone. I’ve cried through the paperwork. I’ve sat in IEP meetings that made no sense. And I’ve had to advocate harder than anyone should just to get what was already supposed to be there.

Over the years, I worked across public, charter, and private schools as a teacher, IEP specialist, and compliance consultant. I’ve held every position inside the school system, and while doing so, I heard the same fears and frustrations from families again and again:

  • “How can I get this service?”

  • “I lost my Medicaid and don’t know what to do.”

  • “The teacher doesn’t understand my child.”

  • “I don’t know who’s providing my child’s therapy.”

  • “I don’t understand what they’re saying in the meeting.”

  • “No school will take my child.”

These weren’t isolated situations. These were everyday realities. Parents weren’t being “difficult” — they were scared, overworked, unheard, and doing the best they could with no real roadmap.

That’s why I created The PIECES Framework™ — a trauma-informed, AHCA-aligned model of comprehensive integration therapy that brings together education, medical care, housing, and workforce services under one unified compliance structure.
